    Hello all,
Has anyone used the KCCQ to determine QALYs?
    Thanks!

    Matt,

We have not used the KCCQ to directly map QALYs, as the general application of QALYs is intended to capture patients’ overall health status and not just their disease-specific health status, as quantified by the KCCQ. Instead, we often supplement the KCCQ with the EuroQol (EQ-5D). The KCCQ is much more sensitive to chanages in patients’ heart failure (see Spertus et al. Monitoring clinical changes in patients with heart failure: a comparison of methods. Am Heart J 2005; 150:707-15) and for CHF-specific outcomes, we use the KCCQ. The EQ-5D can then be used for economic analyses.
